Meet Dr. Laura Gecina

Dr. Laura Gecina is a Pittsburgh native, where she graduated as Valedictorian from Monaca High School in 2006. She is a 2010 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2014, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. While studying at Temple, Dr. Gecina traveled to Jamaica to provide dental treatment to underserved rural communities. She then obtained her specialty certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016 as the only graduating female resident in her program. Dr. Gecina practiced has practiced as an Endodontist in the area since obtaining her specialty certificate in 2016. Dr. Gecina is a board eligible endodontist.

Dr. Gecina is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Centre Dental Society, and Pennsylvania’s Chapter of The American Association of Women Dentists.

Dr. Gecina grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, where she lived until moving to State College in 2016. She married Dr. Chang in 2017, and they now have a daughter named Ryen and a pup named Barley. Dr. Gecina is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She enjoys running, skiing, hiking, and playing softball during her free time.
